Noticing bodily tension
The body often holds what the mind doesn’t want to feel.
Notice where your body feels tight, tense, or contracted.
Notice the shape, size, or quality of the tension.
Notice whether it is sharp, dull, heavy, or light.
Notice whether it stays the same or changes when you observe it.
Notice if your breathing changes as you stay with it.
The body can settle when it is seen.
Return whenever you feel tense or restless.
